Emmanuel Gentinetta - Cool Me Down

My Background

Cool Me Down Adventures

snowboarding-Ski

I was born in 1981 in California to an argentine family

From ages 5 to 12 I lived in Argentina, where I completed my elementary school. High school I did in the United States, in the mountains north of Yosemite in California. This is where I first began to hit the slopes. Fresh out of high school I travelled alone, by mountain bike, from the northern tip of Alaska to the southern most tip of Argentina, setting two new world records and crossing the length of Patagonia while doing so: www.bikeitsolo.com

My university years followed, starting at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. I then lived and studied in Florence, Italy, for two years, followed by a year of travel and a year of studies in San Francisco. After returning to the central coast of California for a slightly more extended period of time, I graduated with a double major (English and Modern Languages) from Cal Poly in June 2008.

My trips to Patagonia

I first traveled to Patagonia when I was 16 years old, and have gone back often ever since. Starting in 2005 I began to alternate college, work, and travel, and had the privilege to work for a Bay Area based active travel company in the northwest of Patagonia every southern hemisphere's summer, leading mountain bike trips in an area known as The Lakes District, where three national parks lie side by side. It is this area I have come to know very well and fallen in love with, and turned into my Argentina home base. Further, it is the area of Patagonia that I look forward to sharing with you. An area where innumerable lakes fuse into the Andes mountains surrounding them.

Snowboarding with my friend Mike Haslip in the Sierra Nevada. I most definitely did not land that jump.
